Liquid Energy
When taking any supplement, absorption is critical. Pills are difficult for the body to digest. The PDR (Physicians Desk Reference) is considered to be a medical Bible. Look at page 1542, it points out a bar graph that nutrients from a pill absorb only 10-20% in our body while the liquid has up to 98% absorbability! In fact, for every $100 you spend in pills, $80-$90 of that gets thrown away!

Rhodiola Rosea Used to Increase Physical Endurance

Rhodiola Rosea Used to Increase Physical Endurance

Rhodiola rosea is generally found in the arctic mountain regions of Siberia.  For centuries, it has been used in the traditional medicine of Russia, Scandanavia, and other countries.  In traditional folk medicine, Rhodiola rosea was used for many things, including: increasing physical endurance, longevity, high altitude sickness, fatigue, depression, anemia, upset stomach, and much more.

Rhodiola rosea is typically considered to be an “adaptogen.” This means that it is an herb that works through the adrenal glands to produce adjustments in the body to help combat stress and increase resistance to stress. Adaptogens generally work by strengthening the immune system or nervous system. By definition, adaptogens usually produce no side effects. The key active constituents in Rhodiola are believed to be rosavin, rosarin, rosin and salidroside.

Today, Rhodiola rosea  is used to help weight loss and to improve mood. Many studies have been done on Rhodiola rosea , and its effects on weight loss are believed to be due to Rhodiola rosea’s ability to activate adipose lipase, a key enzyme required to burn the body’s fat stores. One study found that participants who were taking Rhodiola rosea  had 6% greater serum fatty acid levels than the placebo group at rest and 44% greater levels after one hour of exercise, indicating that exercise increases the weight loss effects of the herb. In a clinical trial studying Rhodiola rosea’s ability to alleviate symptoms of depression, 128 patients were given an extract of Rhodiola rosea. The Rhodiola rosea extract was effective in reducing or removing symptoms of depression in 65% of the patients. Rhodiola rosea, as an adaptogen, is considered to be quite safe. There are no known interactions with other herbs or prescription medication, but like all herbs there is a potential for a person to have an allergic reaction.
